2012 Best Buy Scholarship Winners Announced
Over $1.1 Million in Scholarships Awarded

Best Buy, through its Best Buy Scholarship Program, is pleased to award $1,000 scholarships to 1,106 students living in the U.S. and Puerto Rico who will be entering college in the fall after their high school graduation. Scholarships are awarded to students in grades 9-12 who demonstrate academic achievements, volunteer efforts and work experience. As part of its teen platform, Best Buy and Best Buy Children’s Foundation are focused on opportunities to help teen students prepare for a brighter future with dollars for college tuition.

With the inception of the scholarship program in 1999, Best Buy has now provided over $20.7 million in scholarship funds to help 16,545 students attend college. The program was restricted to high school seniors in the past but expanded in 2009 to include grades 9-11. Nearly 165,000 students registered for this year’s program. Scholarships awarded in each grade are:

Grade 9: 25
Grade 10: 42
Grade 11: 115
Grade 12: 924
